Be an American Idol

To be the next american idol you have to have talent, and America has to like you. So what can you do to up your chances of having a shot at the fame and fortune of being a future American Idol? Follow some of these tips and get on the road to riches, if you have a voice that is.

1. Americans love personality, it is great to be funny, and welcoming, and smart enough to know whether you should try out or not. Remember the initial try-outs for American Idol are the ones, many people are at home laughing about. It would be a good idea to read up about attractive personalities and work on it before you try out.

2. Know what is hot now. Many people have gone on American Idol who can not dance, or dance a very old style, some do not know how to dress well, or fashionably, and some… well they dress up just to get on T.V. Make sure if you really want to get through that you have a good sense of style, this can only help.

3. Be respectful, I have seen so many people on this show, being very disrespectful to the judges, although this is usually after they have been turned down, some contestants are disrespectful before auditioning. Be smart about it, are you going to let a person put you down, then turn around and wave them through, most likely not.

4. Audition to your family and honest friends. Have you seen the contestants that say they sang to friends and family, and were told they were great? Audition your song to a friend that will tell you the truth, someone who would rather hurt you at home, then get you embarrassed on television.

Warm up and take voice lessons. There are many options for different warm up methods and voice lessons, there are online voice lessons or singing lessons, down loadable singing software programs. If you already have a good singing voice it can only help your situation to practice on your voice. Remember the show uses trainers for the contestants also, to help them get better as the show progresses.

Most of the American Idol winners at the very least have followed some of these tips, so this is a good place to start.
