Most people picture the magical realm as being almost cartoonish in nature, with wise sorcerers, wicked witches and impish elves.

In reality, magic has a long and bloody history that resonates in today s world of science, technology and medicine. In this article, we ll uncover the roots of magic and reveal how mystical powers still plays a large role in modern society.

Evidence of practical illusion was first found in ancient Egypt with a class of priest. The magi are believed to be the ancient version of what we know today as the magician .

Both illusion and prayer involves worship and possibly sacrifice to a supernatural being or god. This divine being is then expected to act in favor of the individual doing the praying.
